Few thoughts

by Agnieszka 3. August 2011 00:56

I haven’t written for a while …at least not on the “paper” …needed a little brake from a constantly chattering mind… Silence was a very welcomed state …full of now feeling, observation, rest and detachment. Lately,  I have been reading a lot about meditations, brain and its wonderful plasticity, consciousness, yoga, spiritual experiences… in other words …everything which interested me thirty years ago, when I have  decided to study psychology.  At that time, the above subjects were not so much in the main area of the study. There was a mild disappointment to find out we were viewing people, more from the mechanical point of view “of what needs to be fixed in our highly complicated brains …to achieve maximum functioning… Taking everything apart, categorizing and analyzing in the hope of understanding the smallest elements leading us to more complex systems. The effort to put us, humans into the neatly separated categories of action - reaction...cause and effect..paired with psychoanalyzing…full of relieving the sad, unpleasant experiences to “get to the bottom of it” never felt quite right to me…

Questions of individuality, spirituality and mechanical cause, effect were always present in my mind. One shoe doesn’t fit all…we were not a mere programmable machines with computer generated outcomes…There was more to us...human being…Those days ( or at least through my perception of the study …more less thirty years ago ) left out very important part of us...soul, spirit…collective conscience… I am so happy to see more complex (spiritual aspect) and at the same time simpler approach to understanding who  we are and acknowledging….mind, body spirit…Oneness…

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
