Snapshot 106th Day 04-16

by Administrator 16. April 2011 02:04

Not every event in our life will have a picture in the family album and not each of our emotions will have its name… some of the thoughts will not lead us to the groundbreaking self discovery.... that’s perfectly all right. They are not lost….as long as we experienced them on the first hand basis. By putting to the rest our witnessing voice, narrating our life we are giving ourselves a chance to be fully immersed in the experience itself.

We are used to describing, editing and categorizing our life as the “third party, observer view”. Giving lots of attention to viewing, analyzing and answering but not being” just present” and soaking up the events or  letting them unfold, without the need to describe or control. Playing our own “personal life editors”, making mental decisions about how we should feel…or act…takes us away from being an actively open to possibilities and offers only well known path, guarded by the present and limited set of mind.

On many occasions we get so preoccupied with taking pictures of the event, that instead of just enjoying this moment to the fullest…we only end up with an album filled with visual recollections but not something we experienced at the touchable level… Giving permission to ourselves to feel occasionally out of place, lost or simply not sure of “correct reaction” frees our “automatic pilot” response system to seeing the world out of the box in a fresh and unedited view. Putting away the attitude of following script gives us a relaxed state, expressing the personal truth of living in the moment.

Yoga is a great start to learn experiencing of “just being in the moment” without any judgment or expectations. In Shavasana pose you would concentrate on your breathing…letting the air to fill your lungs in the most natural, unforced way and then breathing out in a simple continuation, releasing any thoughts which come around… When I first started yoga, it took me about three months to fully “find myself” in the quiet breathing without thousands thoughts running through my head…Then, it was easier to put the same attitude in everyday situation of experiencing the world without constant analyzing and just letting events to have the unexpected impact… It’s very refreshing and interesting not to lock in the prefabricated ways.

The bottom line is, we can live our life as the actors of the play…being involved merely on the outside or let this amazing experience of life touch us more deeply, changing the inner layers in more profound ways, involving true emotions, unrestricted by binding perception …of the preconceived script.

Next time you will go on vacation…forget about taking pictures…instead, let it make an impact on you …at this moment …without saving it for” later” memory. Don’t expect …see it for a very first time…be a little selfish…let it affect you now…..don’t think what you are going to tell your family or friends about this moment…just live it with all of your senses , feelings, wondering and dreaming …how about this kind “ of snapshot”...for a change…not ready  and easily  “digestible portrait”…

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
