Filtering...83rd Day 03-24

by Administrator 24. March 2011 21:26

There is the saying …which goes less or more like “If you look deeply enough …you will find it…” I suppose, it encourages us not to give up and stay on the course with a clear goal ….promising to achieve (find) what we are looking for. That’s not what I want to talk about…I would like to share some thoughts about finding things …not because they were not obtainable before…but simply filtered out by our perception.

 Person who wakes up in the morning and feels the entire world is working against him, bad things happening daily and people are being mean will exactly look for the ways to prove it,that he is right. He or she would oppose this notion as a pure craziness… convinced of wanting a break, changing luck and finally meeting great people… but it doesn’t happen…

On the other hand our happy go lucky optimist…would find an ocean in the teaspoon of water and reasons to be happy, cheerful and positive.

Yes …good and bad things happen to everyone….the question is not only how we are going to interpret it through our perspective….but also what are we choosing to look for in the environment…Where is our focus? Are we going to actively search all the positive things and minimize the negative one?  Letting the mind to filter out unnecessary data …which doesn’t support the thesis…?

 Yes…I do believe in positive energy and its unique vibration…attracting more and more positivity…on the other hand, the negativity can be paving the way for other negative things, considered bad luck. I don’t believe that being part of this positive vibration will protect us entirely from facing heartaches or sadness… Unfortunately…bad and good are part of the life, but I am convinced that readiness to spot the goodness around us  and “eyes” searching  for signs of hope, positivity, good luck  will be able to “find” it and create happy, cheerful, positively charged person…attracting more of the same elements.

Many times, only history and its perspective can tell, if what happened to us… ex.  ending the relationship, losing the job, facing hardships, didn’t sparkle the chain of positive actions for the future. All in perspective…the same act of…loosing something could be blessing in disguise…The one door closes and the other will open up… in better direction, forcing us to take a leap of faith, to become bold, fearless…maybe more compassionate, wiser, attuned to the body or the soul… Looking at your life as a chain of lessons, we can grow through, trusting we are in the “act of polishing” …like a precious stones, can  help to ease the occasions, when we feel sad, lonely, lost and confused….

We may say, some of us are lucky to be born being positive… every morning searching for things which makes us happy, full of hope and goodness. What to do…when we don’t even remember…days of positivity…everything is always grey ...people are unthoughtful, selfish, good things are always passing us by and no one likes us…? One thing, I am sure of …it’s possible to change it…starting with us…It may be a little tricky in the beginning…so …we may start taking baby steps… Promising to find at least three good/positive things throughout the day: one in the morning, other in the afternoon and one at night… After a week or so…it will become easier…somehow we can find  four…five…It doesn’t have to be something life changing…for example… It’s a beautiful day this morning…its glorious to be alive; I am healthy, my body works with an amazing precision; someone loves me…and I am lucky to love them back; my favorite coffee is available at the store ,next to me …on sale; the bus driver gets me to work safely and on time; Today, I made someone laugh , I smiled at the complete stranger , who looked sad and then started talking to me…letting me help  ...a little; I helped my elderly  neighbor with heavy groceries; read a great book; made a delicious meal for my friends/family/…stranger;

To feel happy we don’t have to win lottery or marry the cutest guy on the block…all in perspective and training… You may even try to write it down…all positive things which happened today…and then look back in few days and be amazed how wonderful life is and how gratefulness should be part of everyday.

The way you see your world will reflect the way you will live it …and remember it. There are still some children’s books (well this one …not entirely children’s book…but read it as a child) such as Little Prince which reminds us again and again of importance to look with our heart and to find beauty in one single rose… It’s not how much of the things you have or how costly they are….it’s about giving it your own value…and meaning… definition of rare and special.

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
