Feelings 82nd Day 03-23

Thinking about our own feelings…Are we deceiving our true self by embracing feelings of a larger social group as our own?

I was just wondering how much what we feel “belongs “to us and how much, it is the result of society ….I would define it, as our ‘ready to react” set of appropriate “feelings”.

Now let me explain…Lets say …something unpleasant happened to you…bur surprisingly you are not too upset…until someone will” inform” you how really, really bad you should feel. It is explained to you how shocking it is or simply sad, terrible, unspeakable….and then all of sudden you are thinking….”Yes …they are right ….this is unforgivable, tragic, crazy….” You realize and begin to feel sad…but it’s not your own sadness…it’s something you know you should feel….because other people feel like that in similar situations….

On the other occasion you are very happy….something wonderful happened...you can’t believe how amazing it is…until some other person will look at you and say...” What..? Not a big deal…nothing special...” You simply feel like an idiot…or maybe just a bit silly …you were excited and happy about something so unimportant and common…

Well…just trying to make a point... All of us are slightly different, having the unique set of the rules, values, goals, aspirations, priorities. Our feelings reflect personal beliefs, perceptions, points of view, ideas, opinions… all weaved and responsible for creating the unique person.  Sometimes the majority of society will have similar outlook with reactions and feelings associated with particular situation. Those feelings…reactions… have become the norm…widely accepted and expected to be followed. We are aware, how different societies and cultures will perceive certain things from different perspective, followed by different feelings.

The tribes, which are secluded from others develop their own, unique characteristic and reactions…If we, would follow two socially different groups of people … we might be asked to cry or laugh as a result of the same incident…

Simply … I am trying to find  authenticity of my own feelings at any given moment…not based on expectations from our neighbors, friends, group of coworkers, family or even a country… What is it that I am feeling… without assuming the outside influence of preapproved, “right” way…? Living my own highs and lows…accordingly to who I am and what I believe in. It is much more truthful, honest and because of that healthy state.

When we begin to realize the influence of the society we live in…even the most personal characteristic ….for example: feelings/emotions are beginning to look suspiciously preprogrammed… The question of a free will remains open and the detection of what constitutes the unique fabric of a person …may never be answered…

Can we separate our own behavior from socially learned…?  All I know …we can try to be honest with ourselves…and if we are feeling truly happy about something… no matter how insignificant it is, in the eyes of the others …we should accept it without second thought…or doubt. The feelings of happiness or sadness should mirror the individual approach…otherwise we end up reciting someone else verses and emotions…

Just like thoughts ...and everything else in the Universe…feelings are the vibrating energy with certain frequency. We are generating it according to other energy form… thoughts…which defines us. So, if we will change our feelings…according to someone else…this will influence/change our thoughts and at the end the very core of us…turning us into the “product” similar to everybody else… That would be not only sad to lose so much potential in diversity but plainly boring and worrisome about our future.

So …have a blast …have your very own emotions/feelings in the life according to you…making it richer, more vibrant and real…Laugh, when you feel like it and cry…when it’s time for you to do so… be human…. the rarest and the most extraordinary  print ….

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
