Child within

Finding your inner child

I do remember the exact moment, when I've pictured the heavy lid of my childhood life come down with the force and close the antique looking chest forever. I've heard the loud noise echoing all around, followed by a staggering silence and a sober realization…”I am not a child anymore…all grown up...” It was a feeling of sadness and necessity of inescapable goodbye, realization of the finished stage with no second takes to rewrite the tale … My memories laid at the bottom of the chest… destine to be unchanged forever, gathering the dust and hoping to be resurrected from time to time…

I was not ready to say goodbye to a child in me…and yet I knew, that’s what was expected …to become an adult…serious, reliable, organized with clear goals and plan for life…to achieve, succeed and accomplish ….

No wonder …I have been terrified... It took me some time to learn, that becoming an adult didn’t mean giving up the magical, full of wonder, mystery and curiosity part of me. It’s not only acceptable but necessary to never forget your inner child. It’s the energy of creation, always open to learning and ready to be amazed. Not only that we need to acknowledge its presence and rightful place in our life but we ought to nurture it as well. Our inner child… “Peter Pan “holds a lot of hope and potentials for us. It’s the divine spark of creative energy, the untamed class clown, who never wanted to be politically correct, the newborn eyes admiring the beauty, perfection and uniqueness of the world around, the pure spirit ready to extend the helping hand to anyone in need, a person ready to love you, as if it was for the very first time…How can you say goodbye to that part of you…when in the fact it might be your best…

When we tap into our inner child vibrations, we can learn to live fuller, happier life. Do you remember what made you happy, when you were a kid? What did you like to do? What was your favorite game? What made your heart beat faster and your eyes glisten with the anticipation? Whom did you dream of becoming? It’s never too late to realize, that back then, you were right about few things…You listened to your soul and knew what made you happy…Why not today…? Responsibilities, commitments , family …yes…its part of you…as much as “you” are too…I am just asking to respect, love, care for your inner self (and inner child ) as much as for anyone around you… Don’t put yourself at the last place on your list...I should know…I have done it for years …thinking it was a right thing to do…heroic concept of selfless love…Yes…but please include yourself.. Once you will embrace your own needs and callings of the soul with the help of your inner child, showing you the path to the happiness by reminding how to “laugh, love and live”…you will not only benefit yourself but also everyone around you…Happy people make happy and good moms, dads, sisters and brothers, friends, coworkers, teachers, doctors, scientist, political and spiritual leaders…

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
