Control and Ego..115th Day 04-25

Letting go of the need to control everything in our life helps our ego to take a step back and let life happen on its own, without working against its current. Should we be concern with losing direction, lack of planning…maybe even the ‘horrible” idea of drifting aimlessly throughout the life..?

Personally, I don’t believe so…  Listening to your own voice and finding guidance in your heart is far better scenario then driving with full speed and power into the dead end or wrong destination.   Our culture constructed an image of ego driven hero …against powerful nature, world not cooperating with its wishes and all sorts of forces of the opposition. Hero is determined, bold in the execution of the action, full of perseverance, endless energy and hard work… Hero gets what he wants …and if not …still leaves us with the romantic vision of always trying, fighting for the cause until his last breath …I know this hero so well…or should I say heroine in my case…I’ve idolized its character and lived by that for a long time.

What about if hero finds out that his fearless battle was not so much with the outside enemy but with the ego production, responsible for bringing false reflections and number of shadow characters to the play… One noble cause follows the other in the endless parade of trials. Ego wants us to proof to ourselves and world around as well, that we are…….we can fill in the blank……depending on our own story….brave, strong, smart, wise, capable….lovable, best, worthy….It separates and compares us to others, competing for attention, time, focus and energy.

Bypassing the ego trap and tapping into your true needs and beliefs is very liberating. It’s the first step into walking toward your inner path, occupied by love, compassion, connection and purpose of your heart and soul…

The idea of being aware of direction, which resonate deeply within our core, yet it’s not forced against world is a very subtle one. The delicate balance of listening to the heart and following its call but at the same time not ending in the passive mode takes some practice.

I know for the fact, I am still a student…learning every day to recognize the peacefulness and the meaningful purpose from colorful, dramatic and stressful ego. Making a choice about direction of my actions, based on the present moment …not feelings of the past or ego validation about who I am suppose to be….The story of our life unfold itself …all we are asked is to participate as a responding element, true to itself …without the presence of constant judging observer (ego) narrating the thoughts, keeping a score and leading us to believe how much better we are then…people around…

The truth is, we are all created equally…We may be different,  experiencing different stages of life or levels of  consciousness, nevertheless  connected by arriving  from the same place….physical, emotional ,mental, spiritual …. Called….”simply being human” and its consequences ….of looking for answers and meaning to our existence.

The Little Prince

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for..."

"They don't find it," I answered.

"And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

"Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."
